Poem 16

I've lost you
and I don't know why.
You said it was my fault,
that I passed up my chance
but I don't see how.
I've wanted you to be mine for so long
and deep down I know I can still have you.
When I started to break down after my wreck
and you hugged me
I wanted to stay in your safe, strong arms
but you let me go
and told me to call you
if something went wrong.
Everything has gone wrong.
I need you and you're not here.
I trusted you and you let me go.
Even though you've let me go,
You're still mine
if only in my heart.
